About the Opportunity

We are on a mission to help people improve their brain health by providing essential diagnostic insights through our FDA cleared BrainScope® One medical device.  BrainScope One provides a handheld point of care assessment for head injury that objectively assesses mild Traumatic Brain Injury (or concussion) in healthcare environments ranging from emergency departments and urgent care clinics, to the sports sideline and the military healthcare facilities. 

We’re looking for an individual who has a proven history in sales performance, obtaining net new business and building relationships with customers to bring our device to patients in need.  This role’s primary focus is the successful execution of Sales/Business Development Plans for the assigned territory and the achievement of quarterly and annual sales plan objectives.   The successful individual maximizes BrainScope products, initiates and builds sustainable relationships with customers and physicians, and ensures superior customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities & Contribution

  • Develops, communicates, and leads the implementation of the vision for the BrainScope Technology organization, including Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Design Engineering

  • Partners internally and with customers to set objectives and strategies for product technology, including device, cloud, and systems architecture

  • Defines a product development process that promotes customer-centric design, reliability, rapid iteration, scale, and quality and balances long-term architectural and technological needs with short and medium-term product objectives

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders in Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Clinical, and Algorithm teams on technology strategy, and leads all aspects of the company’s technological development and innovation to deliver market-ready solutions

  • Partners with IT Infrastructure in the development and deployment of system architecture and performance, including selection of appropriate hardware and software platforms that meet the intended use of the device

  • Selects and implements suitable technology to streamline internal operations – for the Technology organization and collaborating functional teams – and helps optimize their strategic benefits

  • Identifies technology trends that support product success and drives best practices in change management across Technology organization

  • Builds, scales, and retains a high-performing team by recruiting key talent, and coaches and manages individual and team performance, creating development paths to lead, engage, and grow talent

What you Bring to the Team

  • Bachelors and 10-12+ years’ experience, or Masters and 8-10+ years’ experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Systems Engineering is required.  Experience with a broad set of technology and engineering processes.  Preferred, at least 5 years’ experience with product development in a regulated environment, including medical device safety standards such as IEC60601

  • Demonstrated success with strategic technology planning and building, scaling, engaging and leading a technical development team

  • Demonstrated understanding of the product development life cycle

  • Beneficial specific technical expertise includes:  Hardware and Software development, Pattern Classification, Algorithm Development, and embedded systems

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • Flexibility, willingness to learn, and a demonstrated ability to come up to speed quickly on new technologies and technical issues

  • Ability to operate effectively in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented culture that emphasizes professional development
