Marketing Communications Manager

About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Marketing Communications Manager. The role will strategically plan and manage the execution of the company’s global strategic marketing communications programs. The Marketing Communications Manager will also oversee all marketing, advertising, and promotional activities to support the company’s overall marketing goals and objectives. Extensive face-to-face, written, and telephone interaction with individuals, both within and outside of the organization, is expected. Hands-on contact with products will be required in trade show settings; national travel will also be required.

  • Reports to Sr. Director of Marketing Communications and Market Access

  • Is a full time position based in our corporate office, located in Bethesda, MD

  • Requires travel, 25% of the time

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an annual marketing communications plan in conjunction with the Sr. Director of Marketing, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year and will focus on meeting organizational objectives

  • Develop and implement strategic global marketing communication programs and campaigns, including traditional printed sales collateral, advertising, video, e-Marketing, and trade show presentations

  • Work closely with the Product Managers, Event Coordinator, and Sales Managers and the Professional Education Manager to develop strategic communication processes that capture intended branding, positioning, and key selling messages

  • Write communication plans that support strategic communications objectives

  • Promote and enhance overall brand development

  • Contribute to the completion of organizational projects, goals, and objectives

  • Coordinate the production of graphic, photographic, and video design concepts that effectively deliver the company brand strategy, that are scientifically and medically accurate, that comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and related guidance, and that meet U.S. and global printing standards

  • Support customer efforts to develop their own regional Marketing Plan to drive referrals

  • Promote and enhance overall brand development

  • Lead efforts to update and maintain BrainScope website

  • Plan and improve BrainScope’s Digital Marketing, e.g., SEO, Social Media and cross-links with related organizations

  • Press Releases & News

  • Work closely with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory and Compliance personnel to ensure Marketing Collateral content is clinically accurate and compliant with regulatory standards

  • Collaborate with graphic designers and outside vendors to implement design concepts

  • Work closely with Clinical & Regulatory personnel to ensure content is clinically accurate and compliant with regulatory standards

  • Maintain agency and vendor relationships to ensure any outsourced work is consistent, high-quality, cost-effective, and reflects company branding specifications

  • Comply with and drive Regulatory routing, documentation, and archiving standards with respect to marketing communications and sales training materials


  • Bachelor’s degree in a communications, marketing, business, education, medical, or related field; MBA preferred

  • 3 – 5 years of marketing communications project management and copy writing experience in a corporate or agency setting

  • Medical device industry experience required

  • Demonstrated ability to create strategies, messages, and materials that clinically promote products and services to communicate competitive advantage

  • Ability to execute within all aspects of communications mediums

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Experience in marketing to distributors and clinicians (end users)

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage to budget

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
