Senior Director of Human Resources

Position Overview

  • Full Time position located in Bethesda, Maryland (Washington DC metro area) – employee must be based locally from the start; commuting is not an option

Job Description:

  • Responsible for managing all HR processes for the Company: HR policies, performance management, recruitment, employee relations and organizational effectiveness
  • Provide expert knowledge in HR programs and industry practices
  • Manage and conduct employee recruitment efforts, including working with the hiring manager to understand the role and required qualifications, creating job descriptions and managing job postings, screening and qualifying candidates, facilitating interview schedules, and ensuring reference checks and background verifications are completed
  • Conduct new employee onboarding, orientation, development, and HR training programs
  • Work with sales leadership and finance group to develop performance-based sales commission programs
  • Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and administering comprehensive benefit plans that maximize the benefits to the employees
  • Maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures
  • Manage performance evaluation and career path programs
  • Ensure fair and consistent employment practices and compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, company standards and values
  • Consult with all levels of employees regarding HR matters
  • Work with senior management on organizational and space planning
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement and ensure highest quality of HR services throughout the organization 

Position Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree required; MBA or MS in Human Resources Management or related field a plus
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience in a high-growth, fast-paced, and changing environment
  • Experience leading an HR function is a must
  • Broad knowledge, experience and specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development
